I have received information that the Carrera RS space cam has the Bosch part number 1422 200 060. I asked the local Bosch automotive repair shop for a price. It costs a little more than 1000 USD. Ouch.

I see that several Bosch MFI space cams are advertised on ebay for around 300 USD. Some are for Porsche engines, however none with this particular p/n. Is the norwegian pricing outrageous, or do Bosch suppliers in general add 200 percent to the price for Porsche parts?

Having read the first part of Michael Burgess's book, Porsche 911 Mechanical Fuel Injection Pump, it seems to me replacing the space cam is a task I can do myself, provided I aquire the necessary special tools. Anyone here who has done this? Is it more difficult than it appears from the book?
