While he was active , his posts were always learned and professorial. A terrible way to go and a huge void for his family.
Absolutely agree. .
Chris had a PhD in Metallurgy from a respected British University. Posts like this (one of many such examples) often drew upon that knowledge of engineering and material science to illustrate his viewpoint and inform, which is what made them professional and interesting to read.

It was this forum's loss when he felt he didn't want to contribute his knowledge here any longer.
Condolences to his aged mother for whom he was a carer and her sisters who survive him.
RIP Chris.

Terrible news, and the fact that mental illness took another life makes it even more difficult.
Condolences to his family and friends.

Oh my! Coming on the heels of my own mother's death just chokes me up. Chris was indeed a great fellow, and a very valued resource in a world filled with misinformation. His passing is very unfortunate, and my most sincere condolences to his family and close friends. RIP Chris, you will be long remembered.

Very sad to hear this. Chris was always so helpful and so talented. Many emails and a few phone calls over the years. I had not hear back from him on recent emails and now I know why. Will certainly miss him.
God Bless his family.
