FS: @eBay - Silver 65, claiming silver not common

    No affiliation,
There is a 1965 car on eBay claiming that silver was a color not available to public order. As the paint was reserved for racing cars.
    That doesn't seem correct.
    Can anyone verify?

    I have a 63 cab in silver.
I heard they had problems with the metallic. That would make more sense.
I also read that silver was a declining color those years.

Also, I thought Germany's racing color was white.
Except for the story of a car maker removing paint to save weight in a race and the car was silver bare metal.
