    Early Euro Reflector Headlights

I’ve always thought that the SWB Euro reflector headlights used the roundish tungsten 40/45w bulbs with the P45t base:

I was recently informed by an authoritative source that those bulbs were not used. Can someone provide more information? If those bulbs were not used, what bulbs were used?

    Thanks,
    John

The top one is the bulb I was thinking of - I’ve always thought that was a tungsten bulb:

I’ve never seen anything but the round one!

They are available in H4 halogen with the P45t base, as used in some older snowmobiles. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Philips-Ral...m/162837262786
Current fleet, mostly rubbish automobiles and other assorted junk.

It appears that my European based source is in error. He probably knows them as “Bilux” bulbs but the filaments are indeed tungsten.

    Cheers,
    John

    I present my defense...

I just typed in “bilux” using my iPad and the ever wonderful autocorrect changed it to...Biloxi. Figures.
