Replacing rubber gaskets on Wiper arm studs - 1973 MY

I understand that the Flex band on the wiper motor is very troublesome to remove/replace to pull the wiper motor.

But I don't need to remove the motor all the way, so does the flex band allow enough room to drop the assembly low enough to clear the cowl and replace the bottom rubber gaskets that are inside the trunk?

Also, do I need to pull the blower housing out of the car (again) to get access?
