Thread: Machine shop needed

  1. #11
Ed and team are my local go to guys !

They have someone local that did the heads on my 3.6, but for case work, I think that goes to Ollies. They just got a 2.7 case back from there anyway. Ed will keep me honest on all that.

Bob Jones is reportedly able to do cylinder spigot boring , decking ,inserting and bypass mods. But sends to Ollies for line boring.

    All the best,

Thanks all, I will try to contact Ed. I thought that if he had a recommendation he would chime in. At only 68,000 miles I don’t really think it needs any bottom end work, but once it’s down this far it’s hard to not at least replace rod and main bearings. Definitely up in the air on that decision. I know I want the heads addressed and the cylinders checked. Hoping that a hone and new rings will take care of that. The car was supposed to have been running fine (except for slipping clutch) when parked about 30 years ago.

I was going to ask what level of machine work you need,,,,and how fast do you want it? Head work such as valve guide replacement, valve and seat grinding we do in house. Head machining, rod reconditioning, we can source locally, major case work has to go to one of the west coast vendors. We have the measuring tools to measure bearing clearances and compression ratios.
