I have been doing some digging on 1971 cars, primarily regarding the missing VIN's for the 911S. A lot of interesting info on the old thread regarding the sports seats; and the fuel pump location was a noted item. So, going back through some old Panorama's, I found the Feb 1972 edition had this info regarding the fuel pump location. The change was made in late October apparently, and about 35 cars do not conform (are exceptions) to the following info.
Fuel pump is relocated to the left rear torsion bar tube as of these VIN's.
    911T 9111100562 & 9111110790
    911E 9111200312 & 9111210244
    911S 9111300331 & 9111310214
Karmann bodied cars were not listed, but I will update if I locate more info.
911T-K 9111120946 still has front location

Brilliant Dave, that’s great intel, thanks for sharing.

Spent the day under the car and removed the front suspension cross member ready to be powder coated etc. there, on the right side was the very obvious pump bracket mounting holes, complete with circular indentations in the surface paint of the body, where the rubber mounts were screwed into. NOW opportunity the real anorak part, to get the correct screw type clamp so at to hold the pump to the bracket.

Any leads on the brand and size of these OEM clamps? I had some cheapo non factory ones there, but would love a factory type.

    Cheers

    Adam.

What I was lead to believe the fuel pump bracket in the front area was,
larger bracket for MFI pumps the smaller one like on my 71T was for carb. True or False ?

I have a RoW 1971 911T, unrestored and perfect shape (replacement engine due to an ongoing criminal theft case reported in another thread).

Car is built late 1970 (we assume November 1970), imported to Switzerland by Amag on January 10, 1971.

5 speed and with original Weber carbs, still as it was delivered.
    VIN 911 110 1037, color 2323 Tangerine orange.
Fuel pump is near left rear torsion bar, installed and running.
