    Sigla Windshield Tint Color?

Looking for reviews of Stoddard's tinted Sigla windshield... is the color exactly the same as early glass, close enough, or not? How different is the logo and markings?

Called Pilkington but they aren't sure they have the early logo, and currently have no tinted versions, just the later type with the top shaded.

My '67 S will be undergoing reassembly shortly and all the original tinted glass is nearly perfect. Unfortunately, the windshield is a much later replacement.

    Thanks!
    Russ

Has anyone purchased a tinted Sigla windshield from Stoddard?

I looked into this when I was restoring my car about a year ago. There are two types of “Sigla”screen:
    1) a version made by someone else, no idea who, where a Sigla logo has been acid etched on. I was worried about the quality and safety of this one so didn’t look into it further.

    2) as you say, the Sigla brand is now owned by Pilkington in the U.K. so no issue with their safety or quality. Not sure about the exact tint colour but their current version has the logo in black, not acid etched. Therefore it will not look like an original acid etched type.

    Kind regards

Yes. Tinted. It matched up with the in situ tint on my 67S nicely. I got it two years ago not sure about the current offering.

Thanks for the OK on color, Steve... and I spoke with Pilkington about whether they can etch to old logo, hopefully will get a yes on Monday. If not, it's Stoddard. And getting creatively DIY.

Gitesh, I hadn't seen any other options available. Can you post the source you passed on? Just curious.

It was supplied by a UK Porsche specialist but it doesn't look like they sell them any longer. Maybe a copyright issue.
