Porsche 911 at MoMA Summer 2021!

On June 28th, The Museum of Modern Art will open its "Automania" exhibition.

Throughout the Summer, a 1965 Porsche 911, part of MoMA's permanent collection, will be exhibited in the Museum Sculpture Garden.

The last time the MoMA exhibited cars was in 1951 (featuring a 356).

Looking forward to it. Will make for a nice day trip.

MoMA has exhibited cars since 1951, but not always strictly as part of an automotive exhibit. In 1953 there was another show that featured ten cars including a 356 and a Studebaker Starliner hardtop. https://www.moma.org/calendar/exhibitions/2422

It showed a Cinquecento as part of a design exhibition last year: https://www.moma.org/calendar/exhibitions/5032

MoMA was also the first Art Museum to collect cars, with the Cisitalia acquired in 1973. They now have about 10 cars, all of them testimonies to amazing design and popular culture.

Ich wünschte, ich könnte an der Ausstellung teilnehmen. Alle diese altmodischen Autos sind heute Denkmäler der Geschichte. immer noch ein Auge auf die Show.
