    Decklid Letter Question

Are the black PORSCHE decklid letters widely available from the usual suppliers anodized like the originals, or am I better off re-anodizing an original set? If anyone has a perfect set, please let me know.

Nick,I'am in the process of reanodizing a new silver letter set and 911 emblem to gold.If you want I will let you know how the process works out.You can buy new silver metal letters and redo in black.

Thank you David, I’ll be interested to hear. I have a spare set of original aluminum black letters that I could use if the process proves to work out well.

I wouldn't quite call it indistinguishable. But it is a really good look, not as harsh a contrast as new black plastic or normal black painted letters against the silver paint. It takes a bunch of light coats to get it dark enough, but it is pretty easy paint to work with.

I also tried it on my engine grill, didn't like it as much there. Too glossy and artificial looking. SEM Euro Jet Black Matte looks better to me there.

Only the black ones, I believe. The silver ones are still metal. (Or so I have read.)
