I went back and forth with them several times and although I believe the wheel they're making (or planning to make) is probably a solid and usable piece, it isn't a SOTERIK like part IMO. I thought I saw some visible differences in at least one of the radii in the step transitions of the rim so look closely if you're thinking about buying.

Not a bogus sale a coupe the set I sold went to the collier collection and are going on a 906 he’s almost done restoring. The set on eBay is a different set with different date codes

No worries, just don’t want misinformation being passed along. With that being said, I’m in need of a single 7in if anyone has. Thank you.

Interesting but mine were not a clear coat gloss finish - still a different set. Mine were done in a correct finish which was more dull

Yeah, he says in the listing they`ve been painted in the "last few months". Find me some narrower wheels Dan, and we can do some trading! Thomas Anderson has a pair for sale right now for $9K!

Hopefully, this thread will continue the conversation on discbrake alloy/steel wheels. We need to have a "clearinghouse" for these rare wheels so more might come out of storage, off the shelf and back into circulation!

FWIW I've seen a KarmannKonexion Steel alloy "in real" so they exist.

Now, I can't tell anything regarding how accurate they are or not. If I'm not wrong, the 906 wheels (so the 904 as well) had "K" profiles rims. Which is supposed to be different than the classic "J" profile. Maybe the reason someone mentioned inacuracies with the KK wheels.

Regarding the guy doing steel alloys, here is the link:

Please, share as much pictures of your rare steel alloys as you can guys.

@ acoupe: any chance you could get one wheel 3D scanned?

    Olivier.

    6Kx15 alloy wheel

I picked up this strange wheel a couple years ago. It is a 6Kx15 ALL aluminum wheel, rim AND center.....riveted. Paul Frere writes about these inhouse factory wheels in his book on the racing Porsches. They were used only on factory cars and maybe as "cheater" spares for FIA. This wheel came from a 906 bergspyder once owned by Burt Norris. In the center, it`s stamped "LM", which I believe denotes leichtmetal. Anyone ever seen or heard of this wheel??
