Same question. Ordered Int'l Merchantile #911.531.931.02 similar left and right which are listed PET for coupe 931.02 and 932.02, while

    #911.531.932.42/931.42 is listed for Targa

Int'l Merchantile says that .02 is correct till 72 and .42 starts 73. Had there been a modification of this seal during MY73?

Dirk,I have tried both 911.531.932.41 and 931.02 a real pain to install.I have tried ALL kinds of lubricants, glycerin, liquid dish soap and water etc.The seal from Int'l Merchantile were very easy to install. Not sure which is exactly correct or who to believe. My car is a numbers matching 71-911T 57K.Any one want to chime in?

I am not sure that I understand the pictures you have included, but I can describe the correct rubber for a 1971 coupe.

My 1970 911T coupe s/n 9110122505 was completed on January 23, 1970. I acquired it shortly thereafter. It came with smooth "sealing strips" that tapered inward from the aluminum trim to a rounded point and they didn't reach the glass. A roommate bought a 1971 coupe shortly after I bought mine. The 1971 rubber had a raised step near the glass rather than a taper and there was a significant contact area with the glass, creating a squeegee effect. It appeared more likely to keep water out of the door and I considered it one of the changes between 1970 and 1971 that was an improvement. I gave up originality for effectiveness many years ago and swapped out my originals.

    Hope this helps.

I use the I.M. 356 wipe seal. Same profile as original wiper and it installs much easier.
