This came out of my Ossi Blue '68 912 SWT. Pulled it in favor of rear seats for the kids. The story i heard was that in '68 the DOT mandated no rear passengers in Soft-Window Targas due to safety concerns – odd, inasmuch a my car didn't come with headrests.

Anyway, the car left Seattle for Napa about 7 years ago. The rear seat delete went on Ebay about a year later for about $800 + shipping, I think.

Should have pulled a pattern from it – was maybe $10 worth of ply, another $40 in vinyl, $40 in Perlon felt, $50 for locking marine push-button latches & hinges...and an ungodly number of staples.

Frankly, it weighed far more than the seats it replaced. And really didn't look much different from simply dropping the seat backs down.

    Should be dirt-simple to (re)produce.
