Hello,
I just finished replacing the bushings in both rear torsion bar supports, neither side was cooperative while one side necessitated removal of the end cap (well destroyed in process, freeze plug used to replace). Not the funnest job I have had on the '71.
My question, I use the torsion bar for jack stands while working on the car and wonder if this has either accelerated or caused the deformity in the bushings. All things considered they were original and have lasted 49 years but still wonder if using this as a jack stand location is a good one. Thoughts?
