    Engine oil line removal method

My 1972 911T is leaking oil from the long line that connects the oil console (right rear fender well) to the bottom of the engine (left engine bank area between the oil return tubes). The left heat exchanger makes access to the 36mm nut difficult. Is there a specially shaped wrench for this job, or some other method? Please tell me I don't need to remove the heat exchanger. Thanks in advance.

No magical tool or technique , the heat exchanger needs to be removed , but not the muffler .

Prepare to curse the neighboring oil return tube.

Is there a particular curse that works best?

If you already have collapsible oil return tubes, just buy a new one plus the o-rings and remove the old tube before you get started. This will make it less awful.

Curses are a matter of personal taste !

I have collapsible tubes, and extras. I still think there should be a magical thin-walled off-set wrench to fit this application. Not a thing?

I bought a thin-walled 32 to hold the engine mounted nut to counter the 36mm on the oil line nut. Just no room. Didn't help. Crows foot didn't fit. I didn't try grinding wrenches down -- maybe that would help.

Happy to be wrong if someone has a trick.

I have used thin bike wrenches from Park tool. They they come in different sizes for the bicycle repair industry.
