Thread: Where'd You Drive Your Early 911, Today?

  1. #31
My friend Colin and I had planned to take our twin E's for an extended run to celebrate their 50th birthdays.

Our plans were dashed by a sudden outbreak of snow in southern New South Wales and the Victorian ski fields so we went west.

Fantastic uninhabited roads except for the wildlife ... a slight altercation with a kangaroo has left the LHS spoiler a little worse for wear, kangaroo OK ...

Mount Panorama is a public road but limited to 60KPH

Parked next to a Holden Ute, but it was a left hander...

    . . . Some More Break-in Miles

    Took a little trip up to EASY's, week-end before last . . .
    https://www.early911sregistry.org/fo...=1#post1152341

. . . needed the 'break-in' miles. Great excuse, anyway

Up-'n'-'at-'Em ~2-ish, up to Emeryville via The 5, then back down along the Central Coast on the The 1-Oh-1

Lunch in Grover Beach --- then back in the barn by 1600

    1340 clicks = why I drive a Porsche = . . .

    . . . The Olde Tijuana Tune-up

Came back from EASY the week before . . .

. . . car gave a bit of a 'shudder' coming off the freeway

So --- this time . . . I stuck to surface streets, slowly running up the revs, tooled around down by Acton, again. I've been scouting some roads for bike rides, anyway, so this drive gave me a chance to do that . . . as well as keep me close to home in case anything went sideways

    Yeah --- I've got 'trust issues' . . . still

Anyway --- nothing happened. Starts great, runs great. Still takes 10 minutes to warm up but no 'shudder' or miss-behavior of any kind

I'd filled the Big Tank ALL the way up before parking her, the week-end before --- like, to where I could SEE fuel through the filler . . . so, on that last stretch coming home? . . .

    . . . I just ran 'er up to ~6000 --- to use up some of that fuel . . . + clear her pipes, so-to-speak . . .
