In my experience, their post-sale customer service has been very good.
Good Luck!

And now an update:
Mike at PK has offered to return my money and the/a core unit if I will send him the rebuilt CDI box. So, I am off to UPS to return things tomorrow. Stay tuned for further updates

Be nice if he returned mine as well - but glad you’re getting it back

Guys,
And now a final note to close this thread out: PK returned my core with a check. On the outside chance that the check that I took to the bank today is good, I can now finish replacing the clutch that my grandson burned up. Looks like this car is out of service until the salt gets washed away next spring. Thanks to all who offered help and encouragement.

Add mine to the list. Spent $1900 on a PK with a big name engine builder and dead after a few hours...
Piss poor customer service.
I think there are issues with their CDI design/tolerances. If you swap out the Bosch unit for a PK unit and then the engine wont start odds are the tach is squashing the CDI trigger signal. Disconnect the tach, then the engine should start. At this point you have two choices 1) change the VDO driver board in the tach for a universal driver board, 2) or get another CDI other than PK.
