Anyone heard of a '65 911 DR Side Recaro having a Seat back Release Mechanism??????

I'm restoring my Recaros from my late '65 Build 911. (3032xx)

I have discovered that the Factory Manual shows the Passenger Seat having a Release Mechanism, and Drivers Side does not.

It turns out I have a Recaro Seat on my Drivers Side that has the Release Mechanism, as the Passenger Side does. The Release Lever Brackets on the Seat Pans are Symetrically Opposite, and the rivets holding them look to be original factory, unmolested.

Anyone have any knowledge of this "Option" (???)?

    Thanks,
    Dan

perhaps the other one is originally from a RHD car (or intended to be in a RHD car)

Yes, that's a good explaination. I have had this vehicle for 33 years. Strange that it would get a RHD Seat back in the 70's & 80's, in the US.

    Thanks for your input.

I guess the future owner of this vehicle will have the option to convert it to RHD 911, after I install this seat....!!!
