I’m so very mad at the universe right now that I can barely stand it. Nick was the first to introduce himself to me long ago at an ESR eve gathering during a Lit Meet weekend. We were both steering wheel hounds, (the coincidence isn’t t lost on me).

Just a brilliantly wonderful person and we missed each other during RR7 regrettably. That’s all I can muster. A little overwhelmed.

    RIP Nick.

I am very sad to read this news today. I have had a few dealing with Nick over the years. I have fond memories of him seeking me out to chat when i visited the Lit week swap meet and got the chance to see his wonderful ST. A lovely man. RIP Nick.

    Utter shock

I got to know Nick through our landlord when we moved back to North County. Such a nice and genuine guy. I have a few nice memories that come to mind: Shortly after the ST was finished he took me out for a drive, he was so stoked and who can blame him. What a car!

Another good memory was after he’d let his son drive the ST on track for the first time. Nick was so proud, but a bit disappointed that his son had held back a bit. I asked if that wasn’t a good thing considering the car? Upon which Nick responded it was good he showed respect but the car is meant to be driven

Last one was during RR6, early morning and I had just crawled out of my tent and walked down for some breakfast. Foggy and very few people out. And there’s Nick with a coffee cup in hand with the biggest grin on his face. He was so happy to be there!

Nick thank you for being you, I’ll miss you!

I did not have the good fortune to meet Nick, but did have the honor and the privilege of admiring his skillfully restored 911S at The Petersen museum and on the silver screen. My deepest condolences to Nick’s family and to his friends.

So very sorry to learn of Nick's passing. Just an absolutely wonderful guy on or off cars. I know him best for his amazing Porsche builds and his willingness to help out anyone. I saw Nick at Rennsport and he looked great. This is a huge loss for his friends, family and the Porsche community. RIP Nick.

I've known Nick for a long time, and never knew him NOT to go out of his way to help a friend, or a Porsche acquaintance.

    2 stories stand out:

About 10-12 years ago, I ran into him at the Aspen Airport, we were both waiting for our (long delayed) flight....So we started shooting the shit about ALL things Porsche...and ALL People Porsche. I really don't think we left a stone OR person unturned. Including a little (!) badmouthing of certain (deserving) people and businesses....

Suddenly, a guy sitting right next to us turns and says: "I take it you guys are Porsche guys?" And hands me a business card.
It was Nick Clements, from European Collectables.... Without missing a beat, Nick Psyllos turns to him and says 'Did we badmouth you?' I could not stop laughing.

Another time, I needed to pick up my 72S at Autobahn Interiors in San Diego. I live in LA, and was going to take the train down south. Nick heard I was coming, and offered to pick me up at the train station, take me to lunch, and drop me at Tony's (Autobahn.). Just such a great guy...always smiling, always willing to help.....

This one, because it was SO unexpected...is just a little TOO shocking to absorb right now....
