Thread: TTG light switch

    TTG light switch

I am on the hunt for information related to the location and switch that operates the TTG (thru the grill) driving lights appropriate for my '70T.
The owner's manual and parts catalog are not much help.

Thanks in advance for any information,

    Woody

I was looking for one of these for my '70T back in September. I wanted the two-stage switch because I also intend to install a rear fog light. The part number for that switch is either 911.613.027.00 or 914.613.641.10 (same part, just 911 and 914 part numbers). The part number for the single-stage switch for just front fog lights is 901.603.504.01. See this thread for more details.

Just installed the ttg driving lights. For driving lights they are energized when the high beams are selected. There is a relay that you install and tie into high beams. If using them as fogs you need the switch and relay according to manual.

That is the direction that I think, I want to go: So you are saying that, you have the TTG driving lights connected to the high beam function / switch on the steering column ?
Thus hit the high beam lever on the steering column and the conventional high beams and the TTG driving lights come on at the same time ?
The requirement is a specific relay and direct wiring from the TTG lights to the steering column ?
Do you have a reference or part # for the above mentioned relay ?
This is a huge help and another detail solved...............

    Thank you in advance,

    follow-up

I modified the factory manual diagram for fog lights. (see attached) Some cars like my '72 are pre-wired from fuse box to top of battery boxes. If there are green/white wires on one side of #8 on box II then odds are your car is pre-wired. I am waiting on Porsche for the plug cable. (updated diagram to reflect blue & white wire connected to 3&4 on box)

I now see the entire system and how to proceed.
    This a great help.

    Thank you again.

I'm sorry for misunderstanding your original post. I thought you were looking for the switch but, given you're using the TTG lights as driving lights rather than fog lights, it's a moot point.
