Would anyone have a source for the 2 correct fasteners for this oil door hinge? On my car the small bolts illustrated in these pictures have been replaced with hex head bolts. And, am I seeing correctly both flat as well as split ring lock washers beneath the bolts?

    Thanks,
    Mike

Thank you Clyde. By way of brief introduction, as this is now my third post, I am new to both this Forum and the Registry. I am waiting for better weather here in Northern Virginia for a proper post, including introductory pictures of my 1972 911T coupe in Albert Blue.

    I was looking for details.
One that I saw was the oil door.
First the socket head cap screws and second the unpainted hinge.

I have seen unpainted hinges before. Is it possible this of how they came? The second owner said he never took it apart.

    Surrounded, all not painted

    And no decals.

The next thing I saw was a very lightweight engine sound pad.
Same one in both cars. I thought for sure they were heavy things.

The car in garage has black wheel wells , black engine area.
Orange car, hardly black anywhere. Just some on doors.
I’m interested in seeing the lightweight engine sound pad picture if the ones mentioned are original if any photos of them come to hand. Ideally showing the surface finish and construction. I believe there is a factory engine pad that was used for a short while up to around end calendar 72. Construction is not like the repro pads offered by vendors like Soterik nor like the new all foam replacements that I’ve often seen. Ones I refer to a faux weave effect surface layer facing engine over a some kind of foam backing — the latter disintegrates /crumbles messily with age. There are threads that mention/show this type but it seems to be an overlooked restoration part maybe not much demand if only used for a short period of time around calendar 72.

Requesting guidance on an oil dipstick for a 72.

I have seen some 72s with a " cap with OIL stamped on it" around the size of a quarter at the top of the dipstick, others have just the traditional finger handle. Which is correct for a 72? was there a date cutoff for when Porsche switched which one they used?

For what it's worth, my 7/71 build has the style with the "cap with OIL stamped on it"

My 7/71 build has the finger loop type of dipstick. I believe it to be original. Not sure when the switch was implemented.
