    FS: prototype 911 fan

Bought this at a German auction 4 years ago, was described as a

    PORSCHE Motorsportgebläse

I paid 530€ for it, and that is also my asking price.

See pics for diameter. Not sure if this was used on a Porsche or that it maybe some sort of prototype fan.

How about 500$ shipped to USA or EU?

Not a buyer, just a dumb question.

What would one use this on?

I have no idea Peter, I would use it als wall art not on an engine.
There is also no support to hold an alternator like in other fan houses.

Looks a bit like the early fans, but not sure it is the same

Interesting. Would certainly be a centerpiece if one could engineer to be mounted on a ‘64. The concours judges would freak out.

Send a pic to Alois Ruf for Quick Blue, it has a standard fan on it. Those early fans had more blades, I’m guessing they had too many and thus too much power drain for the cooling efforts - same thing happens when you put a 911 fan on a VW 4cy.

Great Idea Mark.... I was about to say the same thing... I will see Alois Ruf in a few days and I will mention the fan to him.
He needs it for sure... Tate

There might be some differences between the picture of the prototype 901 and what is offered, size and number & length of the blades. Also the design of the housing seems to be different.
