    3D printing & early Porsches

I recently picked up a 69 Porsche 912 hot rod. I have been making a list of what I want to modify or repair. Ultimately, I will be doing the route I take on all my builds: track focused while simplifying. Now I haven't dealt with cars from 60s in a long time, but I am trying to maintain a period correct build. Modern 3d printing doesn't exactly align with that, except there are a few applications that make sense especially if they aren't seen. So I am planning on installing race headers and I have removed the SSI heat exchangers on the car (for sale btw). From there I removed the front blower system and needed to plug some holes after that process. The 3d printed plugs are prototypes so far. Additionally, I plan on 3d printing some plugs for the chassis in the rear where the heater valves were removed.

Here is what we (my cousin does the design and printing) have done so far.:

    Before

    After (friction fit)

    before

    after

from the inside ( the final print will have holes to mount with M6 nuts and bolts)

I thought I would share. Thanks guys.
