Battery hold down advice (aluminum tray install)

Hey all. Adding to the list of projects/improvments on this car, I've opted for one of these aluminum battery hold downs: https://optimatrays.com/collections/...gid-clamp-tray

The thing is, It requires drilling down into the metal of the car. I can't quite tell what is under the batter tray as it's pretty close to the front strut mount. Ideally, i'd love to bolt this down ad hold it firmly. Any advice? Perhaps a different way I can mount it?

Is this for a SWB car? If so how are you going to get the nut on, or are you welding in a captive nut?

First question is can I drill through the battery tray.

If I’m able to, yes, I’d weld in a nut

I assume you would only drill thru the first layer, then you would use a flange nut where you grind off the corners of the hex, then drill the hole to that size, drop the nut in (flange keeps it from dropping thru) then weld it and grind weld smooth. Have done this many times when original captive nut breaks loose.
