Many of you are familiar with my previous build, a 1968 TR tribute. This vehicle has received the same attention to detail and care.

This Mexico Blue numbers matching, non-sunroof 1974 911 was delivered from the factory with the coveted K21/22 option package which includes the following items: Air conditioning, Tinted Glass All Around, Antenna -Left, Forged Allow Wheels, Bumpers w/ Impact Absorbers, Vent Windows, Koni Shocks Inserts, Stabilizer Bars – Front and Rear, Oil Tank, Oil Level & Oil Pressure Gauges, and Pirelli Tires. Information is present in the birth certificate which will accompany the vehicle, along with factory tool roll, tools, glove box manual, technical bulletin, sales brochure, manual pouch, original one year only 1974 blue Bilstein jack, and blue Porsche crest keychain.

This 911 comes equipped with a factory 5-speed manual transmission and a 2.7-liter flat-six air-cooled engine. The mechanical components have undergone a meticulous rebuild, with minimal break-in miles (approximately 1,100 miles). Although the car is a 911 model, the engine received a comprehensive upgrade by Jeff Hines to S specifications. This included the installation of new S pistons/cylinders, camshafts, rebuilt S heads, rebuilt rods, S intake and CIS system components. The rebuild process also involved hot tanking, machining of all surfaces, installation of time-serts for the case, and fitting of new hardware, fasteners, seals, oil, and fuel lines. Additionally, a new clutch assembly, refreshed gearbox, and mounting hardware were installed.
Further enhancements beyond S specifications were made, such as the addition of hydraulic chain tensioners, SSI heat exchanges, and a Dansk sport muffler. The CIS system underwent meticulous tuning by resident expert Al Kosmal. The engine compartment received careful attention as well, with the tins repainted and the original green shroud, airbox, and fuse cover cleaned to excellent condition. The fan and housing were also cleaned and detailed accordingly. A fresh oil change has been performed, along with a new replacement correct orange-hued Porsche Purolator oil filter.

This 911 has undergone a meticulous four-year restoration performed by 3 Pedal Posse. The objective was to address any components in need of replacement or restoration while preserving original features specific to 1974 models, thus honoring the car's authenticity and character. The vehicle underwent a thorough disassembly process prior to stripping all surfaces from the trunk area and wheel wells to the undercarriage, exterior panels, jams, bumpers, and valance to bare metal. Expert attention was given to rectify any imperfections before the application of epoxy primer, factory-style seam sealing, and the meticulous application of three coats of single-stage Glasurit Mexico Blue paint (Porsche paint code 336), followed by two coats of single-stage Glasurit clear coat. Metalwork and paint preparation were expertly executed by DG Vintage Coachworks and Haury’s Collision and Vintage. The engine bay was not repainted, as the original paint was in excellent condition without blemishes.
Throughout the restoration process, new Genuine Porsche rubber and trim have been sourced and painstakingly installed. This includes door seals, door handle seals, hood seals, fender seals, front and rear bumper impact strips, rear bumper guards, front cowl vent trim and screen, exterior mirror seal, headlight, taillight, and turn signal seals, jack point covers, as well as window seals throughout. Additionally, new anodized aluminum outer scraper and pop-out window trim have been fitted, along with a new Porsche exterior mirror, Eric Linden (Auto Foreign Services) wiper arms, and an array of miscellaneous hardware, fasteners, and trim.

The vehicle now boasts upgraded German H4 headlights complete with new trim, NOS lenses, seals, and housing, as well as new John Audette European-style taillight lenses, new Porsche trunk light, rear license lights and housings, and interior lights. A new 911 badge proudly adorns the rear deck lid.
Furthermore, the front turn signal assemblies and rear reflector have been carefully polished to preserve their excellent original condition, as has the black metal engine grill and 2.7 badge. While all glass remains original, a new laminated windshield has been installed.
Throughout the restoration process, meticulous attention was paid to preserving the car's originality. This extends to the factory trunk wiring cover, washer tank, and brake reservoir. Additionally, all relevant fuel, brake, and oil lines have been replaced with original specification German parts where applicable, accompanied by correct hose clamps, and new Porsche brake reservoir bracket and hardware.
To further enhance authenticity, both the front and rear lid hatches have been replaced with new Porsche units featuring correct yellow cadmium plating. Door check rods and latches have also been meticulously cleaned and restored to their original finish.

The interior of this vehicle reflects the unique features of the 1974 model year, characterized by the rare blue/black vinyl seats with correct cross-hatched patterned centers—a one-year-only finish. The seats have been meticulously restored, preserving the original covers, which are no longer available.
The interior quarter and door panels, respective caps, and dashboard remain unblemished, devoid of cracks or dings, and have been carefully cleaned, detailed, and maintained to retain their originality. The carpet, also original to the car, shares the one-year-only blue/black color scheme and is in excellent condition, mirroring the quality of the seats. The original sun visors, also in excellent condition, have been mounted atop the new correct perforated black headliner.
Original gauges have been cleaned, serviced, and fully function as intended, including all warning lights. The three-spoke steering wheel is of S specification and remains original to the car, adding to its authentic charm. A period correct Blaupunkt radio completes the interior “spirit of the 70s” ambiance.

The drivetrain has undergone thorough cleaning and detailing, accompanied by the installation of new bushings, front Koni inserts, and rear Bilstein sport shocks for enhanced performance. The calipers, original S specification aluminum, have been meticulously detailed and serviced to ensure optimal function. Genuine 15” Fuchs alloys, expertly restored to their original finish by Peter Nguyen, measure six inches wide in the front and seven inches in the rear, complemented by new Porsche factory aluminum closed-ended nuts and new Yokohama performance tires measuring 205/55/R15 throughout.

In addition to upgrading the motor to S specifications, several enhancements have been implemented. The vehicle has been lowered to European ride height for improved handling, along with the installation of a Porsche front Carrera lip spoiler. Furthermore, the wheels have been restored to RSR finish, adding a touch of authenticity to the vehicle's appearance. The original air conditioning system was removed by a previous owner without causing damage or alteration to the vehicle. The original antenna is included but not currently installed. The meticulous restoration, involving extensive research, and unwavering care invested in this 911 reflect a true labor of love.
