    another muffler question

    A friend and I are making headers for my 68 'L', and the outlets of the header will not be in the same place as the stock heat exchanger, they will be a bit wider. What I'm wondering is, what the internals of the stock muffler are like. I'm thinking of cutting of the inlets and moving them towards the outside to meet up with the headers. Does anyone know what the baffles look like inside the muffler?

    There was an article in the old Upfixing compilations about modifying a pre-74 muffler into a dual outlet sport-type, and it had cutaway drawings of the internals. I have used it to modify several mufflers into single outlet sport types. It is posted on my website at:
