    Thanks folks.

    Stacy - I don't need an original RS speedo - I just like the layout of numbers on the dial. Looks like it's been bid up pretty wel so beyond my reach. Congrats on getting a good rpice on it.

    There were actually 4 different VDO mechanical speedos used on the '73 RS :

    250 kph or 150 mph (as used on '69-'73 911T/E/S) depending on the country to which it was exported

    then from 9th March 1973 on:

    300 kph or 180 mph

    As noted above, these speedos all featured the central silver 'button' :

    After Mar. 9th, 1973 was the 180mph speedo used on the other 911 models (T,E,S) also or just the RS? Thanks.

    No, it was just the RS - the T/E/S models continued to use the 150mph speedo.
