    Sporto trans ID?

I need some help identifying this sporto. It came out of my 68, and I thought it was the original, but it seems to be a newer version and looks to have been rebuilt.
Anyone help with the id number? 905/00 3180095 Thanks

    I also have a 73 S sporto. How many 73 s sporto's were made?
BTW, I will be driving mine from Cincinnati to Daytona for the REnnfest get together. Do you know of anyother sporto's going?

    Cap,

The only S Sportomatics I know of are your's, mine, the guy in Chicago with the 72S Targa, Peter Gregg's (which is 8 vin numbers after mine) and the phantom car that Cain sold to George in Ventura at the first German Autofest. I also heard of a transmission 925-01 that is in Texas. It is owned by the widow of the last assisted suicide by Dr. Jack Kavorkian. If there are more out there they are hiding with all the low mile original early 911S or the owners of the converted cars are not saying anything. The guy that brought my car from Germany and restored it told me he lived near the factory in the early eighties. He said he knew guys that worked for Porsche and he would visit the factory. He said someone there told him there were eleven European 911S Sportomatics made in 1973. However, I have found nothing that supports this.

When in Daytona check for the Brumos collection. Peter Gregg's car was there at last years 24 hours Daytona. Someone there may know more. Supposedly, Peter Gregg is a big fan of sportomatic. Let us know what you come up with.
