When I had my dual-out I had to trim the pipes due to catching them on too many driveway entrances. Actually ended up breaking the welds where the pipes attached. I've switched to the Dansk sport one-out, but I miss the sound. I'll go back to the dual set-up soon.

On the resonance issue, I've heard (but never seen) of someone tapping a hole in the side of the pipes after cutting them and using a bolt through the hole to control the change in back pressure. Is this an urban myth?

Probably not a myth. That is the same way I tune RF waveguide components. The bolt causes a disturbance which then causes a restriction of the airflow.

In my case the bolt reflects the RF energy in a way that changes phase relationships blah blah blah blah blah. OK I'll stop.
