Thread: RGruppe trip pics...from Rennsport to Monterey!

    What IS the difference? ;>

There is a structural difference as well. Besides the lighter sheetmetal and glass (on the first series) there is (reportedly) stiffening in key areas within the tub.

Does anyone have a handle on this?

    Compare n Contrast...

The REAL RS vs. RS Spec debate has been and will continue for a very long time..
I would like to think my RGruppe car is pretty well dialed in with all the upgrades. HOWEVER, after driving Rob W's RS, its nothing like I own.
I know Thorsten liked driving my RGruppe car to Monterey. I know he will LOVE driving the Stacy's, anywhere.

Stacy, hope to see you and Jennifer at DP or HB Concours, or both? Chris, come on down and bring Cain.

    Hey Ray,

How are you? When is the Dana Point Concourse? I'm going to miss Huntington Beach but will try DP if the timing is right. Are you going to make the Historics on the 19th?

    Jol,

I know that the lightweights benefited from thin glass etc which would make a big diff over the standard RS Clones built from T's E's or S's, but I don't recall hearing anything about additional weld points etc. I know the RS Americas of 93 had a few that were additionally supported through tub welding but that's it. Inquiring minds need to know. A good question for Rick Cabell....Rick??!!!

    Kurt,

What are you saying? that you'de have to be bored to participate with this. Man, what are we doing with our time. We should be out driving or something. How the heck are you? It's true to some degree...I guess if I was busier at work, I wouldn't be here burning time...but I do like this subject matter.

Oh, look at the time, I'd better go, it's iced coffee thirty.

    Later guys,
