Thread: Show your ride...

Between this 68 T/R and the new guy with the slate gray 71S s/r coupe in Geneva, the bar on this board has been raised yet again for remarkable early 911 cars.

    Welcome to the forum Philip.

Are you driving down to Classic Le Mans again this year ?

There's quite a contingent of early 911's driving down in convoy (nearly 40 of us) & taking the Portsmouth ---> Caen ferry late on Wed evening.

    Hi Andy,

I am, but am travelling on the first ferry from Portsmouth on Friday. Not sure if I'm going to take the TR this time - my wife prefers something a little less noisy! However I expect to have the TR out at the Silverstone Classic later in July (in the paddock that is).

    Regards,

    Philip

Say, not to be overtly greedy or anything, but any pics of the interior possible down the line? Engine compartment?

    What a super car.

I'm running out of decent photos. The car is in having its annual checkover at the moment. When it's back next week I'll take some more photos and start a separate thread.

In answer to the question - yes, it was originally RHD. It was picked up from the factory by Dan Margulies and Rob Mackie - well known European amateur racers in the 1960s. They drove it straight to Italy and did the Circuit of Mugello in it coming 3rd in Group 3. I met up with Dan last year and he has given me all the original correspondence he had with the factory when ordering the car. Fascinating stuff. The car is one of 4, maybe 5, RHD TRs made.

    Regards,

    Philip
