Well after lurking for a couple years I figured it's time I posted something. However it seems I've gone about this whole thing a bit backwards!

First I bought a 997S in 2005, straight swapped that for a 996RS which I then straight swapped for a 996 Cup and a 964 Carrera 2 - all of these were white by the way. Then I worked out you don't need to sell them

    3 years back I found a couple abandoned 356s (T1 beehive A and a 64 C) and then a couple years back a 1960 Ruby B.

So when a '72 side-oiler Targa S needed a new home I put up my hand .. it was part way through an extensive resto and I have only just begun considering my options. The car is sporting a whopper of a 3.4 dual spark ITB engine, widened rear fenders etc.. but still has the orig gbox and rims, hence the thinking part. I have spent the last 2 years solidly on the 356 Registry as I have worked on the A and the C nut&bolt, but will be reading here for the next while. I hope to finish the project in a year or so.

Here some pics ... I look forward to chatting some more as this progresses. Lastly my first instinct is to put the car back to orig at least engine wise, the issue really is only the completed and very nicely done paint job and the RS fenders.

thanks Cliff, very kind .. yes the Beehive A is a special one for sure, especially with a green interior which really suits the era and the silver body and is quite a rare factory color combo.
