Found some cool period window decals

While digging through a parts stash last week I came across this quarter window with these vintage Porsche Parade window decals. Since my trim was scuffed anyway, I bought the piece of glass and installed it. I dont care for a lot of decals, but I couldnt resist these two!

I love the old decals. As a graphic designer, I'm always interested to see this stuff. I really liked this one from a very early 911 at Rennsport.

    Crusty old guys...

Dave, Chuck is an old guy, like me...he was probably there...Monterey '73. I've got a Sun Valley '71 decal stuffed in a cigar box...I was at the parade, but don't feel right placing it on my '72 car. On my car? '75 Seattle, '78 Aspen...That was my last parade, since the gold chain set seemed to be taking over PCA even then...

    Cool stuff Kurt…

    Dave,
Paul is right about me be'n old … but wrong bout me be'n at the '73 Parade… that was 16 years before my Porsche ownership. In '73 I was just about ready to retire my '59 Alfa Spider and get into my 18 year '67 Bug obsession.

Anyway, the decal was part of a COMPLETE '73 Parade participant package I bought from a guy about 12 years ago.
Decals, patches, grill badge, program, follow-up results booklet, paperwork, meal tickets, maps…. All in the vinyl logo pouch……….. EVERYTHING!!!

... been offered pretty good money for the cloisonné badge alone ... but want'a keep the whole package together...

I took this photo during a tour of Russel Restoration in Essex, MA. The car is a Ferrari 275 GTB--not a Porsche, but the stickers were impressive.

If I recall corectly, the car had extremely low mileage and had spent most of its lfe in storage.

Jim...those are "way cool" stickers... A "been there, done that" statement for sure. This year, at Emory's campout thing, a young guy approached Cindy, he being critical of the stickers on the vent wings, saying they detracted from the look of the car. So she gave him a tour. "The factory put that one on to show they were world champions...should we take that one off? This is the 1975 Porsche Parade..we were there. Should we remove that?"...and so on, thru the R Gruppe Cambria '01 sticker, the 35 year PCA member sticker, the '78 parade sticker, etc. Cindy informed me the young guy finally understood the "been there done that" reason for the stickers.
