Gruppemeister was a "no show" at GAF

Duty calls, my apology for not being able to be at this weekend's GAF as promised. I was asked to be on a catastrophe response team for a major insurance carrier with huger hurricane losses in Florida. This meant that I have to travel and work right in the heart of the devastated state of Florida.

This assignment could last anywhere from 2 - 3 months so I'll be away from home for at least that long with the exception of a few R & R on the weekend where I will fly back home to be with the family.

This is not a fun thing to do but its my job and I do have an obligation to provide for my family. I hope everyone will understand this. Otherwise you guys all know I wouldn't have miss being there this weekend.

I will still be available via e-mails so please drop me a not every now and then. I may not be able to reply rightaway depending on how busy I get but I plan to stay in touch with everyone.

Hope that everyone had a good time at GAF and I look forward to seeing many of you next year for the Dunkel weekend.

    sincerely yours,

    der Gruppemeister

Cris, A guy does what he needs to do...this troop sure understands. God speed, and have a productive time there on the wrong coast, okay?

    Ditto on Paul.

Chris, your services are needed by many tramatized families and businesses in FL. While I was truely looking forward to meeting you for the first time, I and everyone else understand when duty calls.

The trouble is, you don't get to do that "head count" to dun the guys that don't show. As it was, I was only a half-show; I got there, but the car didn't make it.

When we do meet, the car will be much better for the time that will be spent in the lapse. I'll feel better about that.

    Take care, man.
