    Thumbs up

I don't know, Chuck . . . I was thinking that frame would go well with your jacket . . . . and look real good on your car.
Naaa...... keeping the old jacket Rick, maybe someday I'll be able to fit into it again......

Was finally given a CIRCLE Porsche frame I've been look'n for, for 22 years ........

Mine was a CIRCLE car from the boat......and so far always lived in So Cal.

The frame needs to be re-done (It has the '70's 'Gold Tint') but I'll get to it some day...

The challenge for me with most of these vintage frames is they were taller from bottom to top to involve all 4 license plate holes... Instead of using just the 2 holes on top and a 'slot' to hold the bottom of the plate on the newer frames. I'm so used to looking at the back of my car with the later 'abbreviated' frame, when I put the vintage one up against it, it looks too BIG...

    .......... and so it goes

They were from a supplier that made these for resale to Porsche dealers and apparently went out of business.

Sourced from Southern Cal. and I gave a whole bunch of them away to my friends in our local Porsche club. Kept two each for each of my cars and a couple extra for future purchases.

VERY well made with a high chrome finish......I was very pleased with that purchase and immediately looked for more on the internet, but have never seen any again.

Where did you get yours from ?

You like them then.....I bet they really look good on your car.
The deal is , they have a real old skool kinda charm about them.

Not real glitzy, and of course they have no dealer connection, but in our case, I really do like the simplicity of just having the manufacture's name discreetly identifying the product.

    PORSCHE.

I am almost ashamed to say how much I bought that case of 40 for......it was for 28 bucks and that included shipping. Came from a little, now defunct, maker in the Whittier ?, Ca. area , I believe. The name of the shop and the address is still on the box out in the garage...I can post it here if anyone is interested in knowing about the source. Maybe someone had dealings with this business at one time. Like I say, the original Pitney Bowes stamp is on the inside flap of the box, as the seller re-used the case when he sent it on to me about 5-6 years ago.
My guess is they were a mid 70's offering according to the dated stamp.

    Porsche Plates

Ask and you shall receive! I too like the simplicity of just the "PORSCHE".

    Ahhhh- haaa.......

You painted out the background black and wiped off the high points with a cloth soaked in paint thinner.

    NICE !!
Left all of ours just plain chrome. My one friend who I gave a few to, did that trick like you and blacked out the background when he mounted it on his 930.
His car is the same color....Guards Red, and with all the black trim on it.....made for a nice complimentary acc.

    From the '73 Dealer Listing

No reference to any make --- VW, Porsche, or AUDI . . . which seems to be the rule more than the exception.

Way to go, Pete! ---- never even heard o' this outfit. 'Harbor Cities' sounds kinda generic, but Wilmington was annexed by LA in 1909, still a district. Now next to Harbor City, San Pedro and the Port of Los Angeles. Oil refineries, tank farms, container/truck parks, mostly . . .

Actually I took a black "Sharpie" pen and colored it in, didn't want it to be a solid black. Using the "Sharpie" gives it a faded black tint and keeps that vintage look! Car is Bahia Red BTW.

Speaking of strong... a Wester frame auction ended today and sold for $427... I'll bet you a dill pickle that someone here won it. This one has no Porsche crest like the one I own, but neat never the less.
