    Wester

One of those names I kinda remember . . . and kinda don’t. More here:

    Here are some comps . . .

    http://www.early911sregistry.org/for...ghlight=wester

    http://www.early911sregistry.org/for...ghlight=wester

    426/021/1
    Wester Motors, Inc (’69)
    Wester Porsche Audi (’73)
    1187 Del Monte Ave
    Monterey, CA 93940

$427, huh? EeeYouch. Must be the ‘Monterey,’ ya think? . . . . there goes that neighborhood.

Price sounds about $327 too much, if you ask me, but --- what do I know? Most I’ve ever paid for a frame was ~$200 --- and I’m an idiot. Then again, I could spread that kinda damage over all the other frames I paid $20-$40 for so . . . at least I’m solvent. Or at least --- tell myself so.

Prices like that push all of this kinda stuff --- Polak/Iverson/Brumos/et al --- even further underground.

Look for this bit at the next Monterey . . . .

No doubt a lot of $$$ but the price is driven by availability and clearly there aren't many of these around. Dig those decals on that spyder!

    Tom Mason . . .

    . . . from the '71 PDL . . .

    Tom Mason Porsche Audi
    250 Abby St
    Fresno, CA

Matte white lettering in matte red letter boxes, flash chromed, no Makers' marks/ID; plate = std CA pass iss

Seems to 've taken over the Porsche concession in Fresno, from Guy Gardner --- but only for that one year . . . '71

After that, Gardner re-appears --- + Mason disappears = 1-year-dealership. As obscure a dealer + frame as any here

Superior Auto Body is on the property today. One desolate corner of Fresno, too

I can only find them in the '70 PDL.

    One year only, I think.

    Flying Porsche Ranch

I have this on my car now. I don't know anything about it but thought it was pretty cool. Has really nice patina... I get the sense it wasn't the best place based on a comment I saw on the 356 registry. One or two of you California guys must have some info.

Got my new issue of Hemmings Sports and Exotic Car magazine in the mail today........very timely.

If you all want to read a REMARKABLE short presentation in Don Wester's own words, along with pics of the 1966 Sebring race that caused insurmountable grief to those involved, get this copy today.

Its a gut wrenching account of several horrifying accidents and , at least to me, shots never seen of Don's own collection of the car that tangled with Mario Andretti.
Don was driving that 906 that day, and you can almost feel the grief come up off that written page and whack you right in the throat.
Gripping account, remarkable photos, and lives lost that day........combine to bring a tear to the eye of the reader.
    March 2012, Issue # 79. Pages 52 thru 55.

Don, hats off to you for sharing from the heart.
    For being ......a REAL man.
    A Hero.
    A GREAT driver.
    Best Regards,

    Chapp . . .

    Chapp Volkswagen Corporation
    3700 Tyrone Blvd
    St Petersburg, FL

Dull white lettering on med blue back-round. A genuine bona fide Volkswagen Dealer, and plainly listed as such . . . dealing in Porsches. (Lotsa these . . . and kinda surprising, too) Appearing in the ’70 thru ’72 PDLs

    Plate is std FL pass, year-of-iss. 50 = Washington county. D = pass vehicle <2500 lbs . . .

Hm. No reference to Porsche Audi, like --- at all/anywhere . . . either on their frames or paperwork?

    Wonder why?

    Lasher

    Lasher Porsche Audi Fiat Ferrari
    (Address unknown)
    Sacramento, CA

Dull white lettering on black painted frame.

Lasher-Niello Co. is a Volkswagen franchise, but only Niello shows up in the PDLs between '69 and '73 (see post #78, above), always in Sacramento, so . . . . this frame may be (much?) later.

Still --- never seen Ferrari and Porsche together like this . . .
