I have seen 2 locations, 1954 Kettner Bl. and one on Columbia St, (within a few blocks of each other). I use to have this on my '57 Beetle, then the '67 bus and now the '72 T.

Vintage Monte Shelton Motors frame. The car was actually purchased new at Riviera Motors in Portland, but old frames from there are expensive, if you can find one before some VW guy snaps it up.

This one was $5 at the Monroe swap meet a couple weeks ago and has the Monte Shelton cool factor.

    Penske . . .

    Roger Penske

    Aka 'The Captain'

Born in Shaker Heights, OH, he was making money from cars --- race cars . . . starting in his teens. Began racing in ’58, successfully --- won his 1st race in ’59, in a 550RS, moving up to F1 and NASCAR. Had a rookie test lined-up for Indy --- but . . . turned it down . . . for business. A certain M. Andretti took that spot

Raced for a few more years, then . . .

    . . . started Penske Racing, in 1965

As an Owner, won Indy 15 times --- starting in ’72 w/ a guy named Donahue. Ran in CART, too --- now IndyCar. ALMS, then Grand-Am Rolex. And NASCAR, still

    Also ran the Can Am, w/ Porsche’s Sunoco-liveried thousand-horse-power nightmare --- + ultimate road racer/monster . . . the 917/30 . . . w/that Donohue Guy, again

Multiple Hall of Famer = Motorsports, Int'l Motorsports, + Auto Racing. So are some of his employees . . . Guys like Andretti, Fittipaldi, Mears, Unser (3 o' em), Sullivan, etc. . . .

Known for his commitment, organization, and preparation. And not afraid to show it. When you see those race teams w/ fleets of sparkling carrier trucks, manned by smartly-uniformed personnel, running immaculately-prepped/museum-piece/race cars . . .

    . . . think/thank Mr Penske

    Anyway, currently CEO of Penske Automotive Group = 40% stake --- net worth >$1.2B . . . + multiple other businesses . . . including 15 Porsche stores . . .
    http://www.penskeautomotive.com/dealership-porsche.html

    . . . but this frame ------ is from his 1st . . .

    From the '71 PDL . . .

    Roger Penske Porsche Audi, Inc
    2120 33rd St, SW
    Allentown, PA

Matte-white lettering + matte-med-blu+grey letterboxes, flash-chromed, no Makers' marks/ID, w/ std PA pass iss, etc, etc

Very interesting little bit, here. From looking at the PDLs, seems that this store was only around for a year before morphing into Scott-Penske at this same address --- see post #469 . . . and all taking place right during the height of Mr Penske's joint venture w/ Porsche --- in the Can Am. Love to hear that story

But more unusual? . . . this looks to be the earliest appearance of Audi's 'rings' on any dealer frame --- if only for that one year

As famous a name as ever sold a Porsche . . . + 'longhoods,' at that

    One of my 'whales' . . . = a frame I've always sought ----- + never expected to find

    Goodwin . . .

    . . . from the '72 PDL . . .

    Goodwin Porsche Audi, Inc
    Route 11 Narrows Road
    Larksville (Wilkes Barre, Kingston), PA

    Matte white lettering/matte dark-grey letter-boxes, flash-chromed, no Makers' marks/ID; std PA pass etc, '72 Bi-centennial ed. . . .

Indeterminate address --- three towns claim the street, so . . .

Another invisible dealer. Think there's a Mazda dealer there now but . . .

I have a 1973.5 911t that was serviced their through 1976 and 1986. I am trying to find if it was delivered there and if the owner is still around.

Any extra info about this dealership would be appreciated!

Dull white lettering in matte gray letter-boxes, flash-chromed, no Makers' marks/ID. Plate = std PA pass, bicentennial ed.

The successor to R. Penske's solo effort, from the previous year + the same address. Business still exists + @that address --- shows 1st filed on 05-Jan-73 . . . but Scott Volvo + Scott Mazda occupy the property today

When I think about all the stuff that was going on Back Then --- right around that time . . .
    Hi Long Ranger
Thank you for your efforts and sharing this information. Are you able to tell when this dealership changed from Scott-Penske to Kappauf?
