    Sorry, O . . . no idea

With a few exceptions, I only post about Dealers that list in PDLs printed between late '69 and '73; Kappauf appears in none of 'em

What's interesting is that 'Kappauf Porsche Audi, Inc' has existed as a corporate entity since late '70 --- and's still around today . . .

    . . . and's at the same address as the Penske + Scott-Penske stores

    I dunno --- tax-shelter, corporate shell, maybe? . . . seems unlikely that anyone could use Porsche's name in their company's w/o some consideration, so . . .

    Anyway, some more @posts #364-5 . . .

    Heinrich's . . .

    From the '70 and '71 PDLs . . .

    Heinrich's Porsche Audi
    1301 Penn Ave
    Wyomissing, PA

Pretty-standard matte white lettering in matte gray-blue letter-boxes, flash-chromed, no Makers' marks/ID, std W. VA. YoI pass plate

No history or details --- kinda-as-usual w/ these small-town dealers, seems

Address seems to be converted to small office-space, these days. Nice little 'hood, too

And the only remarkable thing about Wyomissing? . . .

    . . . seems a certain Ms Swift breezed-through, at one point . . .

    Competition Motors

I think that I've managed to ID most of the (North American) dealers selling cars between '69 and '73 --- ~500? . . . and so I kinda know whose frames to look for. Everybody knows the 'famous' ones. And while I especially prize the little-known/obscure/unknown dealers . . . there are several 'whales' that I've always been on the look-out for . . . some of which I've been lucky enough to find/pick-up . . .

But, looking over the Dealer Lists, and having some sense of how these frames would've changed over time --- from the early VW/Porsche days to the later Porsche/Audi . . . there are some frames that would be both . . .

    . . . but that I've never seen

Johnny Von Neumann was the 1st Porsche dealer west of the Mississippi . . . and his dealership spanned almost 20 years, from the early '50s partnership w/ Volkswagen, thru Porsche's association w/ Audi in '69, before being sold back to Porsche --- + disappearing . . . ~'72

Now, the Competition Motors frame that I knew/sought for so long was the one w/ VW and/or Porsche on it --- see post #188. But --- since Porsche cut its connection w/ VW in '69 . . . that frame wouldn't 've been used on vehicles sold after

And where was Audi? --- 'cause, keep in mind . . . Von Neuman's Competition Motors was still in business for several more years . . .

Not sure how many cars were sold that could've had such a frame, and I thought that I had some idea of what to look for --- what a frame like that would look like . . . but/still . . .

. . . never thought that I'd see the day

    Until This

From the last year/address that Mr Von Neumann sold Porsches . . .

    Competition Motors
    8855 West Washington Blvd
    Culver City, CA

    This is why I collect

    Van Wyk (Santa Barbara)

    From the '69 PDL . . .

    422/132/1
    Van Wyk's, Inc
    630 Chapala St
    Santa Barbara, 93101

Blue letters in white letter-boxes, flash-chromed w/ white detailing

    Old School frame w/ VW +Porsche badging --- prolly pre-'69 . . . maybe WAY

Lots going on here, architecturally --- especially w/ the upper sections . . . additional 'fluting' in the upper corners is unique --- + the 1st/only frame that I've ever seen w/ this detail . . . + picked-out in white

    Plate is a Dealer's, the kind used from '56 to '63 . . . more-appropriate for this frame, I think. No reg stickers here/required

    Dealership is still around --- selling Volkswagens . . . just different Principals . . .
