    Tom Carsten's

    From the '72 PDL . . .

    423/309/1
    Tom Carsten's Porsche Audi
    7030 So. Tacoma Way
    Tacoma, WA 98409

AKA Tom Carsten's Autohaus --- same address . . . selling Porsches up to to '71*, dropping from the PDLs, re-appearing for one more year . . .

    . . . then disappearing

Anyway, dull-blk letter boxes w/ unpainted lettering, flash chromed, no Makers' marks/ID, std WA pass-plate **

EPIC Customs does business there, t'day

    * According to the PDLs, Valley Motors on Sprague had the Tacoma concession for a brief time
** And yeah-yeah-yeah --- plates wrong . . . but OG WA pass's are an expen$ive PiTA to get hold of + this was all I had. Fix it later

    Rusnak

    From the '70 thru '72 PDLs . . .

    Rusnak Porsche Audi, Inc
    337 W Colorado Blvd
    Pasadena, CA

    Semi-gloss white lettering + matte-black letter boxes, flash-chromed --- + a proper RWB&Co. Plate = std CA pass-iss, etc, etc

Interesting character. Another Eastern European emigre who made his fortune, here --- got his start in SoCal in the late '50s, selling Triumphs. Little Bigger Deal, now, though . . . = multiple franchises + dealerships + business interests, since

'. . . Rusnak fled the totalitarian regime in Czechoslovakia in 1948 and came to the U.S. with his parents. He was educated at private schools in New York, Chicago and eventually in California.

He began buying and selling cars while a student at USC in the late 1950s. In 1959, he opened his first car dealership in Culver City.

Rusnak now owns 12 automotive franchises and eight dealerships in Thousand Oaks and Pasadena. He also has holdings in Castle Hill retirement home in Thousand Oaks, as well as in land development, real estate financing, construction and other companies. He has homes in Pasadena, Thousand Oaks and Lake Arrowhead . . .
    '

    http://articles.latimes.com/1997-01-..._1_paul-rusnak

    Kindova Big Deal Guy --- + not just here . . .

'. . . In 1992, Rusnak considered the possibility of running for president of the soon-to-become-independent Slovakia, but he opted instead to tend to his many businesses in the U.S. . . .'

Surprising that, for someone who's been around as long as he has --- he's a contemporary of V Polak . . .

. . . never hear anything about this guy

Anyway, from the dates + location, seems Rusnak took over the Porsche concession in Pasadena from Trans Ocean

    Still there, too --- same address . . . Jags + Porsches, these days . . .

    . . . 'cept --- daughter runs it, now . . .

    Don Burns . . .

    . . . from the '70 thru '72 PDLs . . .

Don Burns Prestige Porsche Audi, Inc
    13631 Harbor Blvd
    Garden Grove, CA

Decent-enough frame that's been 'tidied-up' a bit, somewhere along the way . . . not a trace of paint. Anyway, from some period pics, looks to 've been white (or un-painted, maybe?) lettering in black letter boxes, flash-chromed, no Makers' marks/ID, plate = std CA pass iss, etc

Unusual style frame w/ angled brand names --- unique to the earliest edition . . . as shown by a period ad + used-car purchased there/then

    Continental . . .

    . . . from the '70 thru '72 PDLs . . . I think

    Continental Porsche Audi, Inc
    4155 E. Speedway
    Tucson, AZ

Green (!) lettering in white letter-boxes, flash-chromed . . . and nothing like a RWB&Co, huh? (I can almost spot the details from across a parking lot) Plate = std UT pass, etc, etc

No-less than six Porsche dealers called themselves 'continental' in some form. But this frame came off of a 912 that turned-up in Utah, so . . . I'm kinda guessing, here. Either way, this one's just about as crispy as I've seen them come . . .

    . . . = just the way I like 'em!

And again . . . no history that I can find. Circle K 's there, now

Previous addressee was Bob Williamson Motors, Inc --- also a Porsche dealer . . . + another one-year-only. Hhhhh . . . no other details
