Calling all Seat Police- early low back ID

Need your help. What do I have. Recently picked up two sets of low back seats. Each set has one locking and one non-locking seat back. One set has "recaro" stamping on adjustment knobs, and the other is plain.

    Now for the question:
If we set the seats up for a LHD vehicle (adjustment levers to outside of vehicle), the locking seat back is on the passenger side, and the non-locking is on driver side.

Are these seats for a RHD vehicle?

I have a 1965 911, which set would be period correct for this vehivcle, the set with the "recaro knob" or "plain knob"?

What year are these seats from( plain knob vs Recaro)?

I do believe the non-locking seat would be the drivers seat as when the car is moving there is always someone in the drivers seat, one does not always carry a passenger so that would be the locking seat so as not to flop forward when stopping fast, also it makes it easier for the driver to get things out of the back seat, you must remember back in those days they didn't have all the safety regs that they have today as for the knobs I've seen plain knobs on some cars later then 67 so I'm not really sure you can date seats by the kind of knobs that are on them

Skimming through Dr. Johnson's book and paraphrasing:

    1) seat adjusters were located toward the door
    2) inferred non locking backs on very early '65 cars
    3) '65 to the end of '67 had locking seat backs for US cars and RHD cars

    Porsche '65-'68 Parts Catalogue:

Serveral part #'s for both locking and non locking seat backs, US and ROW. It also list the "911" and "911 Coupe" which I get confused on .

This info has lead me to believe I have a 2 sets of right hand seats or a mixed up jumble of seats??!

The only obvious difference are the adjustment knobs. And they do not have holes in the top of the seat back for the head rest.
