Pic of Detroit Area 2004 Early S Gathering

Well, the Gray Wolf is in pre-op, Jonnysocko "upgraded" to a 3.2, TKO took his yellow marble and skipped town. But hey, it was a good time none the less - other than the chick driving by in a Boxster who asked what year the cute silver VW was .

It's sooooo lonely out here .

It's lonely bein' the King! btw, looks like you've got your ride-height dialed in just about perfectly.

You're not alone. I'm down the road in Niagara Falls, Ontario. Maybe a pair of us at a parking lot would be considered a NorthEast R Gruppe meeting???? I'm sure Sam could help us out with a few more members.

    JCR,
Being the mecca of American cars, I would expect it to be pretty lonely having an early European sportscar in Detroit.
I was in Detroit visiting my brother a few years ago during one of the hot August nights gatherings on Woodward. Talk about some amazing early American muscle cars. There were more Mustang Cobras, Barracudas, Boss Mustangs, Shelby Mustangs, Challengers, Chargers, Roadrunners, Firebirds, GTO's than my little car brain could take in at once. All of them bumper to bumper waiting for the lights to change and squaeling tires. There were NO European sportscars. If I lived in Detroit still, I'd have to get some American muscle in my garage to keep my 67 911 company. A nice 64 1/2 289 Mustang convertible would be my pick.
By the way, does your silver 911 have a sunroof?

Yeah, American Muscle definitely rules around here. My low-key silver car is virtually invisible (a little less-so now with the sport muffler installed). August around Woodward is muscle car heaven - fun to see and hear them in action as opposed to sitting on a lawn somewhere.

My original Silver S has a sunroof, sport seats and limited slip - as per Cardex. I searched 4 years for this exact combination of options.

Here's a few pics of the previous Detroit Early S contingent - Curt, TKO, JCR and Jonnysocko. And a few of air cooled machinery amongst the Dream Cruise American Iron.
