We are able to use an authentic vintage plate here for cars over 25 years old. The problem for my 74 Carrera was there was never a 1974 license plate. They used the 73 plate and you put a 74 registration tag on it. That would look confusing, at best.

Then I found this: a very rare 1974 Manufacturer's plate. But the plate law says that you can't register a Manufacturer, government, police, or other specialty plate. In 74, the M Plates didn't actually say 'Manufacturer' on them, just the M, so I submitted it guessing that they wouldn't have a clue .... they didn't and it was approved. Probably the only car in Michigan with a 1974 license plate

Wow Mark, that is a true find! Here in Texas we can also use plates from the year of original registration. I have to find a good one.

... it's not a real license plate but it, along with the original V.P. frame did really belong to the late, great Milt, so that makes it special for sure.
