Thread: Cool license plate thread...

  1. #421
    I'll play....

    This is my '71 914. I found these vintage plates and got dang close to finding the correct digits. I just tell people its like the amp from Spinal Tap. I also collect vintage Iowa plates with Porsche model numbers. There's hope I'll end up with cars that match the plates, but I think a vintage 718 is a tad out of my price range...

    As found (except for the ’64 decal). I assume Colorado only had one “901” plate. I'm still looking for “911”.

    Love that 901 plate!!!! What a coincidence that the title of this thread is COOL license plate: TKF is an acronym for the German word Tiefkühlfrisch meaning Frozen!

    Tiefkühlfrisch = TKF. Very cool

    Perhaps there were some 901's at the 1966 Porsche Parade at the Broadmoor hotel.

    In TN if you have the antique plate in the car, you can hang whatever you like on the back. I had this repro plate made. I was at Peach State's Rennfest last year and lo' and behold there was this Cayman GT4 attending.

    About to post a boatload of plates from Luftgekült 5. I probably missed as many as I captured due to any number of reasons, like not really paying attention to the plates in the moment, the car being situated so I couldn't see the plate, or because the plate was more clever than I. On some there may be more than one plate or the plate of interest is in the background. BTW, California rejected my application for "GASHOLE" and "CASHOLE".
