    OEM '67 Air Conditioning

I know I'm gonna get thrown out of the RGruppe for asking this but, does anyone have pictures of an original OEM Air Conditioner compressor setup for a '65-67 911?

I have all of the AC hardware from the original dealer installation in my '67 911S except for the compressor (well, I have a Bosche compressor, but I don't think it's correct). Except for some diagrams in the owners manual there doesn't seem to be any restoration information in picture form in any of the books/parts manuals that I have. I'm curious as to what the concours folks would consider a period-correct setup.

    thanks, I'll put the Q-Tips away now . . .

    Gary,

I have a '68 with the under dash set-up shown in the owner's manual. (I just had it re-worked and went with a new compressor-type after a long debate). I live in Texas and just wanted it to work down here in the summer so we replaced the compressor and condensor for efficiency's sake. The car is in very good original condition (Paint/Interior), so I debated this for a week or two. I do however have the original compressor in my garage and can send you a digital picture of it if it is the same and this helps. I'd need to send this to you directly as I can't seem to compress my digitals enough to fit the forum (I'm trying to learn!) so send me a private reply if you'd like some photos. BTW, it works great now.

Bro Gary, just don't stop autocrossing it, and we'll let it pass..

Galen, where do you live? I'm trying to gather more information about Texas early 911 owners in the hopes of eventually doing a So. Cal-type gathering at some point. Interested? We have the beginnings of a early Porsche crew in Austin, starting to do some fun runs and track days.

    David,

I'm in Houston. Would love to attend one of your events. BTW, you might want to drop by Boerne Texas next April 8th-10th (2005) to see the Gulf Coast 356 Holiday. I am the program chairman for the event and we'll have about 150 356's there. (Sorry but I dont' think I can get my 911 there with the other cars!). I still owe Gary a photo (Christmas & all) so forgive my delay Gary if you are reading this too!
