    too much

I would have to agree with Exmalibu, even if its all original, you could get a better deal out there, and like other members have said, the engine could go wrong, the good thing of rebuilding or restoring the porsche you buy, its that you know what work has gone into it, unless you are shure that your friend has done most of the work, wich it could be your case, also beuty is in the eye of the beholder, and how much you want it, but he is not def giving you a deal, good luck, on what ever you do, one thing for shure, buy a 911, classic, they are the best machines.

Remind me to show you the "Homely Date Room" at the farm some day. It's for special occasions. (Shut the door and you cannot see your hand in front of your face). I swear I'm going to leave a dog in the room with the next drunk that sleeps in there.

As execmalibu says "you can pay too much too soon" but in the case of a complete car the money is right. I remember paying less than $20 for my '70-S only a few years ago. That was then, this is now. As long as it checks out "Swing Away".

    Good luck,

    Platas.. Read More Carefully..

I THINK THAT A CLEAN ORIGINAL PAINT 1973 "E" COUPE IS WORTH EVERY PENNY OF $32,000..

IF A 911S IS WORTH $40,000-$50,000 WHICH THEY SEEM TO BE..THEN A 911E IS RIGHT BEHIND THEM IN RARITY AND PERFORMANCE..

IN MY OPINION THE "911E" CARS SHOULD BE WITHIN 80-90% OF ANY "911S" OF THE SAME YEAR AND CONDITION

AND EVEN THE CLEAN ORIGINAL "911T" CARS SHOULD NOT BE THAT FAR BEHIND.. MAYBE 60-70% OF THE 911S VALUE..

ALL OF THE EARLY 911's LOOK ALMOST IDENTICAL AND THEY ALL DRIVE AND HANDLE VIRTUALLY THE SAME.. THE 911E AND 911S ARE VERY CLOSE AND THE 911T IS NOT THAT FAR OFF!

TAKE ANY 911..REMOVE THE BADGE AND TACH AND LET 10 EARLY 911 OWNERS DRIVE THE CAR..I BET MOST OF THE GUYS WOULD GUESS WRONGLY AT WHAT THEY WERE ACTUALLY DRIVING..

I KNOW SOME OF US CAN TELL AN "S" FROM A "T" IF DRIVEN HARD.. BUT WITH JUST A SHORT DRIVE IT MIGHT BE TOUGH.. I HAVE DRIVEN SOME PRETTY STRONG 911T's

    IT IS NOT LIKE COMPARING A 911 TO A 912 OR 914..

    JUST MY $.O2

Go easy on platas; being from Spain, I expect English is his second language and perhaps might not catch all of the subtle nuances people infer in their posts.

It's whatever the market will bear. Put it out there at whatever and if it sells, you have your answer. That reminds me, I need to get out and DRIVE mine!
