Retro intake snorkel sans warm up flapper. (nothing wrong here as the factory did publish a notice about removing these although I'm not sure anybody paid any attention to it). Permatune Ignition. Hokey engine blanket and oil breather (on tank). Missing relay cover. Looks like a real-deal '73 oil thermostat hanging in the rear wheel well. Timing foil/spec looks wrong. Car used to be silver and if you really want to nit pick the Shell decal is mounted incorrectly. Have at it.
Best,
Tom

Big letters don't make a car sell for more money. That auction was really annoying.
That said, it is supposedly an S and a decent RS conversion. What will the mixed message mean on price? $50K is top dollar for a perfect RS clone and $50K is top dollar for a fantastic 'S'. Methinks the muddying of the water will ensure this car doesn't sell at that price.
One weird thing: VIN 9113300870 isn't listed as a '73S in the book. The '73S chassis nubmers apparently stopped at 9113300754. WTF?
Wish I had its seats, though.

Kenik,
Not sure what you mean...
'73 F-Series 911S coupes ended production in the 1430's... I have #1033 and it's an April build... F-Series 911S Targas end in the 920's
Hope this helps?

Must be my book; the number series in the restoration guide I have said the numbers stopped where I said. I triple cheked it to make sure I wasn't missing something. I thought it was odd. I am as confused as you are, then...

The numbers you may be seeing may only be showing cars built up to end of year production (Dec 72). Stoddard shows #'s that way in some of their older catalogs...very deceptive.Originally Posted by kenikh

That's exactly what it is showing. Deceptive indeed. Thanks!
