Mitter used 910 031 and 910 025 in training, as Stommelen used both 910 032 and 910 030 in training.

For the race Mitter used 910 031 and Stommelen 910 030.

There were generational differences between the two older cars (910 031 and 910 032) and the two newer cars. But the main difference is that Mitter's 910 025 was built with an aluminium frame and the other three were steel framed.

From other colour photos from the race, the 'silver' coloured roll bars were the cars used in the race.

All in all it is fascinating and these photos are very very interesting - especially as they are in colour.

[QUOTE=HughH;1118785]I have been doing further research on these cars. I think that there are actually 4 cars shown -
-the two cars that were used most of the season for Mitter (910-030) and Stommelen (910-031) which are the ones with Black roll hoops but more importantly with front oil coolers thru the front hood and "full bodywork", and
    - the two new cars for the event 910-025 and 910-0?? which had oil coolers at the left hand rear (which you can see in the photo with the bodywork off with the mechanics hands on it) as well as cut down bodywork at both the sides - no sills - and the rear. They had the silver / white hoops and you can see the oil cooler in the first picture on the one with the red identification

I think that the two older cars were used as T cars for the event (and as a comparison) and the new ones were the ones actually used in the event. If the new ones with the different body and cooling systems (and the case of the Mitter one a different much lighter frame) had not worked properly no doubt the others would have been the backup plan
here is a better picture of both at the event and another picture of Mitter's from the RHR side in the event

Here’s another 910 Bergspyder picture. This one is from the 1967 Cesana-Sestrieres Hillclimb in Italy. I believe this is Mitter who came in second.

That's indeed Gerhard Mitter in 910 032 and he finished second (5'04.7") to his teammate Rolf Stommelen (5'02.3")who drove 910 031 with race number 588.
