Porsche Spider - very light weight in the range of Formula 1 power-to-weight ratio of that era.

'73 Tour de France I believe and this car has a Mary Stuart tail. Not sure if this event was before or after the Targa.
Curt,
That Mary Stwart spoiler looks like an add-on to the rear fender flair which might be prior to the MS spoiler made integrated into the rear fender. Any thoughts on this?

I did a bit of research and the Tour de France Auto was held in September. The Targa Florio was early May. Since Almeras was a privateer effort, I'm guessing now they simply copied the factory Targa winner.
I have never seen a MS tail except on Martini?(silver/blu/red stripes) liveried cars............ news to me.
GREAT stuff
I'm think'n more MS-type duck tails had to be around...
All the period wind tunnel test photos had 'side-add-on' examples...and in fact the outside sides of a factory duck tail are perfectly flat so an ad-on can mate right up to it at the engine cover seem line....they were made with that in mind ...... so ??? ... I'm think'n as soon as someone saw the Targa race winner they started hot rodding there own...
my 2 cents...

BTW: Almeras is still around - this is their 964 RSR 'backdate'.
