    Weltmeister Decal

I have been looking in the boutique at the Marken Weltmeister decals. I am confused as to whether a 1970 911E built in 12/69 deserves to wear where one of these. Any information appreciated.

Also, I think I may have the wrong Shell decal on the air cleaner. The one I have has a white border and I think this car came with solid yellow as pictured in the boutique.

    David,

Your kind'a on the cusp with your 12/69 build car...

The European racing session usually ended about late October, and the championship was official the following January for the year before.... as far as we have been able to tell they got around to making and distributing the championship decals around February of the following year....

As for the Shell sticker... yes, you should have the 'early' all yellow one...

    Hope this helps,

    Cheers,

Here is mine. There is general cracking throughout like an old lacquer paint job. There is a section that is missing on the right side. This is where the "1969" should be. My car has a build date of 1/1/70 and is #0735.

Just checked the stats... and the 1969 World Makes season ended August 10th.

So, it's possible that that years decals were made and issued before the turn of the year...
Our data showed Feb. '70 as the earliest... until we just saw Michael's

Any other January, or pre-January, 1970 have (or had) an original decal...?

    Cheers,

Interesting....my 70 E has what I believe to be a 12/69 production date, I just about had a repro sticker ordered until I read the info on the boutique page. Now I see this thread & I wonder...

I'm sure Brian Fryar will chime in on this, but here is a picture of his 1970 911E
w/ a 12/69 production date (from the 911E.org website) showing the
    Weltmeister sticker.

Yep Chris beat me to it. The Weltmeister on the '70 E I had was original and the CoA said it was made in 12/69 so your '70 E should also have the one shown above.
