Randy, your statement reminds me of the reason I fell in love with these cars: a 1997/1998 Excellence article that I think might have been Paul's car. All I remember is that it was a flawless, original, Irish Green longhood. I think I may have even found the registry for the first time thanks to that article. The article was long since lost by me, but it was the inspiration that finally led to me buying my car this year. Seeing these pics takes me back to the time when the light in my head turned on to early 911 Esses.

Sam, Chuck and Chris: I am fairly new to the group and enjoying every listing. In Sam's posting re. the first Early S run and the 2nd West Coast event @ Pomona, one can see a '73 S Targa Sepia Brown owned by Mr. Bob V. Melton, he owned several other Porsches. Sadly, Mr. Melton passed away 3-5 years back. I was told by his sister that he was an avid Porsche enthusiast and that he greatly enjoyed his membership in the Early S Registry. I purchased the "73 S Targa from his Estate approx. 2 years ago and just about to finish a "low level" restoration for a daily driver. I am looking forward to participate in most of the events. Bringing this old thread up again because I just came across a couple more pics of the 'Troutman & Barns' '67'S 4 door.....

And... recently found out that Charlie Eddy, of our community, is the guy who's job it was to paint the car from the previous Irish Green to the present Metallic Root Beer Brown back in the mid '80's ........... small world ... no?

Great pics Chuck. It's a pleasure to see pics from 'back in the day' I miss SWBSam's humor around here and I'm wondering what happened to him? Maybe someone can get him to make a return?
